My teacher, oh Buddha – destroyed anger,
Eradicated ignorance – crushed away the greed,
Pleasant is the mind pure – Supreme to all
Thus, the Budhha is – Araham, venerate the worlds.

Never asked anyone – nor referred any books
Four Noble Truths – were discovered without help
Conquered the world – as the enlightened One
Samma Sambuddha – our Sage is hence

Grasped all knowledge – in the world without doubt
Wisdom was gained – without any obstruction
His conduct was pure – genuine and wise
Vijja-Charanasampanno – our Sage peerless.

Graceful is His walk – Buddha ever kind
Heartfelt is His talk – listeners enshrine
Virtuous is His thoughts – praiseworthy life
Sugatha is the virtue – that suits Buddha fine

About beings in the world – seen and unseen
About worlds in universe – suns, moons lit
Liberated from the worlds – knowing every realm
Loka Vidu is the Buddha – reason so clean

Not harassing or forcing –only kind words
Animals untamed fierce – humans and gods
Moderated their arrogance – Buddha sagacious
Anuttaro purisa dhamma sarati we praise

For intelligent humans – gods in heavens
To attain nibbana – freedom from suffering
Buddha who teaches and – direct them so well
Satta deva manussanag – virtue fulfil

The wisdom of our Buddha – the unmatched dhamma
Teaching through day & night – clear at its best
Discoursed in simple ways –compassion towards all
Hence, He is Buddha – the teacher unmatched.

All virtues in the world – collected in Him
Liberated from the world – filled with much greed
Dazzles our Buddha ever – so kind and wise
Bhagawa is our Buddha – virtues combined.
